A fascinating event exploring how one belongs to a nation despite ones heritage in a world with an alarming rise in extreme right activity in recent years. Afua Hirsch is a journalist and broadcaster, who has worked as a barrister and West Africa correspondent for The Guardian.

Brit(ish) was awarded a RSL Jerwood Prize for Non Fiction. She'll be talking to the BBC Senior Broadcast journalist, Mike Wendling, who explains the ‘Alt-Right’ - the white nationalist, misogynist, far-right movement that rose to prominence during Donald Trump's successful election campaign in the United States, and highlights the extreme ideas that underpin the movement's thought.

Wendling works in the BBC's Digital Current Affairs department, where he is a blogger and editor of BBC Trending. He produced the BBC radio series America's Own Extremists. He has also presented documentaries for Radio 4 and the BBC World Service on Native Americans and the Black Lives Matter movement.
