Aida Edemariam and Tara Westover - Memoir and Memory

Thursday 26th April - 4pm

Book now

Two emerging and exciting writers look at the challenges of creating a memoir - either telling one’s own story or the detective work involved in writing someone else’s.

In The Wife’s Tale, Aida Edemariam retells her grandmother’s stories of an Ethiopian childhood surrounded by proud priests and soldiers, of her husband’s imprisonment, of her fight for justice all of it played out against an ancient cycle of festivals and the rhythms of the seasons.

Tara Westover’s compelling Educated takes us on a journey from her paranoid, uneducated upbringing in Idaho to a doctorate at Cambridge.
